Active Bystanders - Wednesday 24 March 11:30 - 13:00

The psychology of the ‘bystander effect’ has long been explored and discussed. But what does it actually mean and how can this impact the progress of creating and maintaining inclusive cultures in our workplaces? If we see or hear moments of exclusion or indeed discrimination if we standby and don’t step in, are we complicit to the actions, language and behaviours of others? In this 90-minute webinar, we’ll explore the idea of ‘active bystanding’ and what we can do to step in, every time.
What delegates will learn:

Understanding the impact of workplace banter and what the law has to say about it
What is the ‘bystander effect’ – exploring the psychology
The impact on inclusive workplace culture
How we can ‘step in’ and have courageous conversations to make a positive impact

British Ports Association Port Financing Options Webinar Friday 26 February 2021 between 10am – 11am

We are pleased to invite you to register for a short online workshop looking at Port Financing Options for port professionals.

Following the various events last year and the financial fall-out from the pandemic the BPA commissioned a short ‘Port Financing Options’ (link to report) paper.

This was written by port finance specialist David Gwynne and at the online session, he will examine the various capital-raising options available to UK ports.

David Gwynne will be joined by two other speakers who will give views from the corporate and private investor perspectives and there will be an opportunity for delegates to ask questions.

This session will be for both port finance specialists but also non-finance port professionals, such as commercial and infrastructure managers, new starters and even new board members.

This webinar takes place on Friday 26 February 2021 between 10am – 11am and shall be held on Microsoft Teams. This is free for BPA member port attendees. For non-BPA members, there will be a registration fee of £30 plus VAT with invoices being sent after the event.

Please note this is only for UK Port employees and not for wider industry bodies.
